Animals Asia-Southampton was set up in 2003 by Linda Burr as a local support group for Animals Asia Foundation. Animals Asia Foundation is a Hong Kong based government registered animal welfare charity whose main aims are to bring an end to the barbaric practice of bear bile farming. The charity was founded by Jill Robinson MBE in 1998 and is a UK registered charity. Please click on the link www.animalsasia.org to find out more about their work.
Our aims are to highlight the plight of the moon bears that are held captive on farms across China, Vietnam and Korea and to raise money to help Animals Asia rescue, rehabilitate and care for these tortured moon bears. We are a dedicated group of people volunteering our time to raise awareness and vital funds for the charity through events in our local area and by spreading the word and developing our network of supporters. We also offer powerpoint presentations to schools and community groups that would like to learn more about the amazing work of Animals Asia Foundation.
We'll keep you up to date with all the news on our fund raising efforts and of course the fabulous bears who deserve every penny. Here you are able to catch up on older newsletters... please use the links in the menu to navigate to the newsletter you would like to read.
